South Wilts have signed lead Cape Town batsman Josh Chippendale as their overseas player for the upcoming ECB Southern Premier League season, which begins against the Hampshire Academy at Bemerton on May 2.
The 31-year old comes with impressive credentials, having scored almost 800 runs in the Western Province Premier League this past South African season.
A front line coach, he was voted Cape Town's top fielder alongside winning the club's batting award.
South Wilts, whose batting largely struggled last summer culminating a third-from-bottom finish in the SPL, anticipate Chippendale will be available for the daunting ECB Rothesay Club Championship visit to Bath on April 26.
