SOUTHERN PREMIER DIVISION  CURTAIN RAISER

2/5/2025

The curtain is poised to rise on the 26th season of ECB Southern Premier League cricket, with the Hampshire Academy set to open their title defence against newly promoted Portsmouth on Southsea seafront, 12.30.
There’s a tasty New Forest derby between Bashley (Rydal) and Lymington, while St Cross Symondians receive Burridge.  Bournemouth entertain Basingstoke & North Hants and Alton, minus Dan Harris, begin at South Wilts.
Normally this website would provide team news etc, but a lukewarm response from captains – seven of the ten Premier Division did not reply to emails asking for ‘news’ – means that this item (welcomed by many) is now withdrawn.
A great shame ...

What a completely unnecessary comment to make, which reflects more on you, Ian, than its intended target.

Pathetic comment, Mike had been doing a magnificent job for many years informing a number of people about the success of high performing amateur cricketers. It is a depressing state of society that a number of Southern league clubs are too arrogant to see Mike as an inconvenience and not an enabler of their success and help them be part of the history of a great league.

Shame that so many clubs are not supporting Mike as he does so much for local cricket club news. Lymington submitted a team so only 2 others did which is disappointing.
