Hampshire's Felix Organ has become the first batsman to score a double-century in ECB Southern Premier Division cricket.
He carried his bat for a superb unbeaten 222 against Burridge and set a new record individual score in the bargain.
His 222 surpassed the 196 Tom Morton made against Lymington two weeks earlier.
Organ had looked a good touch at Scarborough in midweek, scoring 72 in piloting Hampshire to victory over Yorkshire. He denied himself a century that day by hitting a long hop from Dom Bess down deep mid-wicket's throat.
An opposition bowling attack was likely to pay the penalty for that - and Burridge did as the Winchester youngster struck eight sixes and 22 fours in his 222 not out.
Organ pointed St Cross to 325-9 declared (Charlie Gwynn 36), but his side were unable to bowl Burridge out, the Botley Road club playing out a losing draw at 187-7, Dan Stancliffe, with an unbeaten 36, Azim Chowdhury (35) and Jack Paskins (23) blocking their victory path.
The draw leaves St Cross nine points behind South Wilts ahead of Saturday's vital visit to the Ageas Bowl Nursery ground to play the Hampshire Academy, who lie third in the log
