
Andy Steggall hit his third unbeaten century of the competition as Hampshire Seniors powered into next Tuesday's National Sixties Vase final against Cornwall at Oxfordshire's Great & Little Few with a crushing nine-wicket win over Sussex at Sparsholt.
Hampshire were grilled into the early autumn heat for three hours as Sussex piled up 240-8 off 45 overs.
But Hampshire made short work of the target - with former television sports presenter Steggall in screen the whole time as the cup final place was clinched with 11 overs to spare.
Steggall, pictured, shared an opening stand of 79 with Lymington's Neil Trestrail (43) and then an an unbroken second-wicket partnership of 165 with Chris Wheeler (74).
Playing on his own Locks Lane ground, Steggall hit a six and 13 fours in his 104 not out. His previous hundreds came against Kent and Bedfordshire.
Cornwall posted 232-8 before restricting Worcestershire to 194-9 in the other semi-final at Stourport.
