Alton skipper Scott Myers heaped praise on his two teenage quicks after Jude Wright and Zac Gadsby ripped through Bournemouth stop order batting and set up a crucial victory for the Brewers in their quest for ECB Southern Premier Division survival.
The pair captured seven of the Bournemouth wickets as the Lions stumbled to 139 all out and a nine-wicket win which effectively lifts the Brewers 16 points clear of Havant at the bottom.
"I won the toss and opted to take advantage of any early movement and bowl. The decision proved fruitful as our opening bowlers hit their straps from the off," Myers explained.
"Bash Walters removed James Van Gool with his fifth ball. Jude [Wright] then produced a wonderful controlled opening spell of bowling as he ripped through the Bournemouth top order.
"Luke Webb and young George Guirdham both edged behind to Mark Heffernan. Wright also removed skipper Simon Woodruff and Robinson first ball as Bournemouth tumbled to 20-5. Jude's figures 4-20."
Alton, in complete control at this point, turned to Zack Gadsby (3-33), who immediately found the edge of Lewis Freaks' bat and then a sharp catch by Dan Harris at short extra cover saw the visitors in further trouble at 35 for 7.

It wasn't a complete Alton monopoly. South African Aiden Meyer (87) weathered the storm, underlining his ability to cope with the pressure with a run-a-ball 87, which included two sixes and nine fours.
His ninth-wicket stand of 81 with Ross Gardner (24) lifted Bournemouth from the depths of 57-8 through to lunch (at 88-8) to 139 all out.
Post lunch proved frustrating for Alton as the ninth wicket stand extended and gave Bournemouth a larger total to defend than anticipated.
Watchful at the start, Dan Harris and Sutton raised left-hander Aarav Rajnikanth (41, nine fours) shared a century opening stand. Harris made a run-a-ball 50 and went on to score 73 not out. Mission accomplished inside 21 overs.
