Australian Joe Merlino [left] and Jack Fuller [right] cracked centuries and Callum Doran a blistering 65 off only 20 balls as Sparsholt ran up a massive 355-8 against Southern Premier Division strugglers South Wilts II.
Merlino, who hails from Newcastle New South Wales, struck 110 and RAF batsman Fuller 103, the pair sharing a 193 second-wicket partnership and between them hitting seven sixes and 23 fours.
Sparsholt lost some cheap wickets after that, but at 270-5 Doran strode to the crease to smack four sixes out of the Norman Edwards ground, together with nine fours. In all, 60 of his 65 runs came in boundaries.
Sparsholt went on to win by 93 runs after South Wilts made a creditable 272-7 in reply, Connor Bain scoring 83 and Max Cordle 51 not out. Oliver Emslie, late of Wherwell, took 3-29.
Hursley Park got back to winning ways with a seven wicket win over Hook & Newnham Basics II at King George’s Field, where the hosts total of 198-8 was probably below par on a good track with a quick outfield.
Notable performances were William Gardner’s 52 and useful contributions from Tom May (37) and Daniel Bowman(33*). For Hursley Alex Blogg returned his best figures of the season of 4-28.
Kumo Sharma carried his bat for 76* in Hursley’s reply, the win coming in the 43rd over. Second team centurion, Sam O’Brien (26) made an impressive start as an opening bat. Sharma and Tim Bacon (28) put on 106 for the second wicket. Hursley’s run chase was significantly aided by 53 extras, 37 being wides.
Paultons are no strangers to being unable to defend big scores, so the sight of table topping Fawley chasing down their 252-8 to win by six wickets possibly came as so surprise.
Robbie Pike (60) and Liam Longland (50) made fifties, but Connor Gibson, who like Sparsholt's Joe Merlino hails from Newcastle NSW, struck a decisive 79 for the oilmen.

Alex Nippard [left] probably limped to the bar (he suggests he's always first one to it anyway) after scoring an unbeaten 108 in Parley's emphatic 113-run win over basement side Havant II. It was is seventh competitive Parley hundred.
He shared a prolific second wicket stand with Tom Saunders (91) as Parley posted 281-8 (Gareth Ransley 4-31) before Bo Powell took 4-22 in Havant's 168-9 response.
Simon Loat, the remarkable unbeaten century and five-wicket hero of Havant's astonishing round 8 win at Paultons now knows what a great leveler cricket can be. He got a duck and went wicketless ...
South African Craig Jeffery [below] struck his maiden Southern Premier League century and later took three important wickets as Fareham & Crofton gave their Division 3 survival prospects a significant boost with a 33-run win over high flying Trojans at Stoneham Lane.
The Cape Town leg spin all-rounder glued Fareham's 233 all out together - a four-wicket spell by fellow slow bowler Luke Dimmick (4-33) had them in trouble at 109-7 (Tom Kent 28) - and, in the post tea session, captured the vital wicket of Sachin Suresh (56), who was threatening to play a match winning knock for Trojans.
The victory has taken Fareham to within two points of South Wilts II and five of Paultons in the SPL3 danger zone - but appeared unlikely after Dimmick's spell.
Seven wickets down, Jeffery pressed the accelerator pedal and scored 56 of a match tilting 100-run stand with James Headen (33) which lifted Fareham to 233 all out, his hundred containing 15 fours and a six.
Left-hand opener Nigel Le Bas (31) and Syed Mahmood (38) made good individual starts but Trojans were on the back foot at 103-6.
Wicketkeeper Suresh struck a breezy ten-boundary half-century, but when he fell to a return catch by Jeffery (3-38) Trojans victory hopes faded and they were all out for 200.
