New Milton's Toby Edwards was chosen as 'Cricketer of the Week' for round 6 after his astonishing 100 off 43 balls - probably the fastest ever century in the Southern Premier League - against high flying Alton at Fernhill.
The Green & Golds were in deep trouble in the Division 1 match at 18-4 when Edwards arrived at the crease, but then fours and sixes flew in all directions - 10 clearing the boundary rope and nine more hitting it.
The devastation was such that Edwards hit 96 of his 100 in boundaries, adding 114 for the fifth wicket with Dan Loader 56 not out) as New Milton reached a winning 220-9.
Shell shocked Alton were dismissed for 197, Edwards restricting his post-team activities to an important catch to dismiss Brewers' left-hand all-rounder Tom South. New Milton won by 23 runs.
