Havant suffered that Groundhog Day experience when Sussex Premier League title chasers Roffey put them out of the ECB Royal London national club championship for the second consecutive season.
Beaten off the penultimate ball in last season's regional final, Havant went down by 33 runs in the opening 'national' round of the cup, despite a brave battle by their lower-order batsmen.
Replying to Roffey's powerful 242-7, Havant plunged to 39-5, but were rescued from total oblivion by Chris Stone (67), Stuart Ransley (39) and Harry Hovey (28), who raised the final score to 209 all out.
