AK XI. Who are they and where do they come from ?
It’s been the question raised at Waterlooville since the draw was announced for the ECB national sixes championship semi-finals.
As Hampshire indoor champions, Ville will face the all-Asian Huntingdon-based side AK XI in the first semi-final on Sunday 29 March at 11 o'clock.
The 2025 ECB winners Whitstable continue their defence of the trophy against Derbyshire's Premier League champions Ockbrook & Borrowash at 12.15pm.
The winning pair will meet in the final in mid-afternoon.
Having lifted the HCB crown, Waterlooville emerged victorious from the west regional finals at Cheltenham - where they beat Welsh champions Neyland and Cheltenham themselves - will focus themselves on playing in a far bigger arena in the MCC indoor school.
Both the Fareham Centre and Cheltenham playing areas are tight and compact : Lord’s has eight indoor lane strips !
The Ville have one more South East Hants indoor match at Fareham before their Lord’s trip - against XII Men on March 22.
