Left-armer Steve Wright, bowling from the pavilion end, struck an early blow for Calmore Sports by bowling Dumbleton opener Ross Martin for 10.
Dumbleton, 22-1 off the initial ten overs, recovered to 80-2 through Dan Holland and Tommy Boorman 37*, but then lost Holland caught behind by Max Bailey off Ben Perry.
Seventeen-years old Boorman, who has been playing regularly for Gloucestershire 2nd XI recently, moved on to 71, twice dumping Perry into the Tavern stand off consecutive deliveries. The spinner gained revenge as Boorman hit a long hop down Shawn Johnson's throat at mid-wicket. He hit three sixes and seven fours.
Skipper Ross Salmon (73*) and Miles Holland (39) took Dumbleton on to 216-4 with three overs left. Another 25 runs were added to take the WEPL side to 241-4.
