Compton & Chandler’s Ford’s youngsters have won the prestigious NatWest Under-16 Indoor Cricket Championship title in their first season in the Ageas Bowl competition.
Having held their nerve to beat Hook & Newnham Basics by five runs in a tense semi-final, CCF produced a stunning performance to thrash Hampshire’s EPP Under-15 side in the NatWest final.
Bowling quite superbly and backing it up with excellent fielding, Compton skittled the county side for a meagre 59.
Compton polished off the target in just nine overs, with man-of-the-match Jovan Dhariwal hitting an unbeaten 27 after taking two wickets with the ball.
Hampshire prospect Joe Weatherley, who played in the Under-16 league three winters ago, is pictured presenting Compton & Chandler’s Ford with their awards.
