Teenager left-hand opener Ben Duggan could make an indelible entry in the Premier League record books if he strikes a third successive century for the Hampshire Academy against Havant on the Nursery Ground.
He made a match winning hundred at Burridge a fortnight ago and another against Alton last week.
No cricketer has ever made three successive centuries in the Premier Division.
But it’s not a unique feat the Isle of Wight youngster is necessarily targeting.
“It’s just nice to be in good nick and scoring runs. I’m hitting the ball nicely right now, but my job is to anchor the innings from the top, particularly now we are in all-day mode,” he said.
“Havant will have the best attack I’ve faced so far – plenty of spin options – so it’s my biggest test.”
Havant will be looking to pick themselves up after being outplayed in last week’s 72-run defeat by South Wilts.
All-rounder Ben Walker is out, while Havant must wait to see whether South African teen bowler Brad Wheal is needed for Hampshire’s County Championship match with Sussex at Hove.
Academy: Weatherley, Duggan, Alsop, Taylor, Gorvin, McCoy, Organ, Crane, Scriven, Murray, Barber
Havant: S Ransley, Hopson, Hindley, Morgan, G Ransley, Stone, Wheal, Bulled, Prentice, Matthews, Ord.
