Hampshire’s Joe Gatting and former county all-rounder Lee Savident are expected to be among five newcomers turning out for Burridge in the ECB Southern Electric Premier League this summer.
Gatting, who spent his formative years helping Preston Nomads win numerous Sussex Premier League titles during his days at Hove, replaces South Wilts bound Sean Terry as the club’s ‘professional’.
Savident will be returning to the local Premier League scene after an absence of seven years – and bringing with him two other cricketers from Guernsey, opening bowler Jamie Nussbaumer and wicketkeeper Jason Martin.
Savident has been playing regularly for Guernsey in ICC tournament matches, but boasts impressive statistics from his previous SEPL spells at Bournemouth, Calmore Sports, Portsmouth and Totton & Eling, his aggressive batting style leading to over 3,500 runs.
The 38-year old all-rounder, who spent four seasons on the Hampshire staff in the latter Northlands Road years, will be looking to chalk up his 100th Premier League wicket with Burridge, having bagged 95 victims for his four previous clubs.
Savident will be joined on the weekend flights into Southampton by Guernsey skipper Jamie Nussbaumer and teenage wicketkeeper Jason Martin, who takes over the gloves from Jamie Rood, who is studying in Cape Town.
The other two Burridge new recruits have arrived from Hambledon, who have been relegated to Premier Division 2 this season.
One is ex-Hambledon skipper and all-rounder Dan Hewitt, the other pinch-hitting opening batsman Joe Collings-Wells, who is studying at Cardiff University
"With a couple of players becoming unavailable in 2015 and the 2nd XI being promoted into Hampshire League County Division 1 this season, we saw it as a necessity to add to our squad if we were going to reach our goals,” said Burridge Director of Cricket Sam Lavery.
“Given that our targets are always high, it meant some significant work would be required in the winter, but along with our various captains I'm absolutely delighted with the players we've signed.
“It's fantastic to have players approaching us, wanting to be part of what we're creating at the club, striving to better themselves and be part of something that continues to grow season by season."
Burridge begin their competitive programme with a cup and league double header against Bashley (Rydal).
They visit the New Forest club in the Royal London ECB Club Championships on Sunday, and host the Bash in the opening round of Premier League fixtures on Saturday week, May 2.
