England Under-19 leg-spinner Mason Crane is expected to boost the Hampshire Academy in the bottom of the table ECB Southern Premier League showdown with New Milton on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground, 11.30.
Crane, a recent Academy product and now a regular in Hampshire’s county side, is anxious to flex his spinning fingers after last night’s NatWest T20 Blast with Sussex was washed out.
Like New Milton, the Academy have yet to win, but came close to breaking their duck when a Jake Goodwin century almost led to Lymington cracking last week.
There is no place for either captain James Park or all-rounder James Haggaty for New Milton, who will be captained by Ryan Beck.
The Green & Gold's, who have lost all five games since last season's Division 1 title triumph, also call up seasoned batsman Steve Watts.
