Dan Stancliffe produced a Premier Division best return as Burridge eased their relegation concerns with a 29-run victory over Alton in a low scoring affair at Botley Road.
Bowling unchanged, he took 6-34 as Alton were dismissed for 98 having earlier bowled Burridge out for 127 (Julian Ballinger 3-14).
Six Burridge batsmen made it into double figures, but only Lee Savident (22) made it beyond 20.
The Burridge innings lasted until the 41st over – Alton’s reply was even shorter.
Only opener Alex Hammond (29) stood firm as Stancliffe and Geoff Dods (4-38) cut through, leaving Alton 65-9 until Mark Heffernan (20) and Ballinger added 33 for the last wicket.
It was Alton’s 150th game in the SPL – and the first skipper Scott Myers had missed due to a business trip to the USA.
