Influential Lymington all-rounder Darren Cowley is unlikely to play again until August after being issued with a three-match ban, which took effect from the Southern Electric Premier Division visit to Alton.
Cowley has been suspended for “multiple displays of dissent” – believed to be in Lymington’s recent match with Sarisbury Athletic – having been the subject of a live formal warning hanging over from the 2014 season.
The left-hand all-rounder is getting married, after which he will be working in Spain, hence why he is unlikely to play again until the final month of the season.
Cowley is one of six Lymington absentees at the Jubilee Ground, where Cameron Grierson, Lewis McManus, Felix Ambrose, Matt Metcalfe and Ed Freeman are also absent, having featured in the six-wicket win over Burridge last weekend.
Due to step in are Ben Rogers, Damien Edwards, Tom Atkins, Chris Jennings, and youngsters Asa Drodge and Cameron Robertson.
Alton: Hammond, Alexander, J Myers, S Myers, M Heffernan, Janmohammed, Gadsby, Trim, Mortimer, Salmon, Ballinger.
Lymington: Rogers, Scott, Edwards, Atkins, Beetham, Ellis, Ashkenazi, Jennings, Moors, Drodge, Robertson.
Bashley (Rydal) have made two switches in personnel for their home match with St Cross Symondians at the BCG.
Josh Digby gets married and Jake Lilley is also due to play no part with Rosco Grierson and Simon Ridley selected instead.
Bashley (Rydal): Watkins, Porter, Andrews, R Grierson, Jacques, Baker, Thurgood, Thomson, R Morris, Ridley, Nash.
* St Cross Symondians cricketer Jamie Aldridge has been issued with a two-match suspended ban by his club ‘for damaging cricket equipment’.
Bottom-of-the-table Burridge and Ventnor go head-to-head in a crucial Southern Electric Premier Division basement battle at Botley Road, 11.30.
Henry Bartlett returns for Ventnor after playing a match winning innings for the second team last week.
Ventnor: Holmes, Bartlett, Blackman, H Calloway, Cheek, Corbin, Herridge, Snell, Westhorpe, Willis, Wilson
