Richard Lock hit a maiden ECB Southern Premier League century before Lymington slipped to a two-wicket defeat by title favourites Havant. The Zimbabwean hit 101 in Lymington’s 193-8 (Simon Beetham 32).
Ben Walker responded with 4-19 for Havant, but quickly joined Jez Bulled back in the pavilion as Matt Metcalfe (3-41) took two wickets before the leaders had a run on the board.
Robert Gibson (36) and Stuart Ransley (30) began to turn things around, but Havant continued to lose wickets – all except vice-captain Andy Gorvin (51), whose half-century and key partnership with Peter Hopson (25) took the hosts to the brink of victory.
South Wilts' scheduled visit to Alton was postponed following heavy overnight rain which swamped the Jubilee Ground.
