Old Tauntonians & Romsey are the first Southern Electric Premier League club to be celebrating promotion.
Their 33-run win at Tichborne Park ensured either a first or second place finish in Premier Division 2.
They lead second placed Portsmouth by six points, but will have to win their remaining three games to be certain of going up as champions.
Middle-order pair Will Edwards (56) and Hampshire’s Chris Wood (37) cemented OTs 221 (Stu Shapland 40) at Tichborne, who were in the hunt while Martin Cheyney (76) was at the crease.
He enjoyed useful stands with Justin Reid (33) and Will Allam (44), but they plunged from a threatening 150-3 to 188 all out, Jody Brown (3-41) and Shapland (2-27) prompting the collapse.
Bashley (Rydal) II promoted as Division 3 champions last season climbed into third position, above Fawley, with a Luke Webb inspired four-wicket win over the Oilmen at the BCG.
Fawley began well with Paul Marks (81) and Tom Gates (75) sharing a second wicket stand of 148.
Andy Neal (3-24) and teenager Sean Read (3-45) stemmed the runs, with Fawley closing at 217-8 (Wayne Royan 34).
Bashley lost their openers cheaply but Webb, pictured, knocking loudly on the door for a first team recall, hit an unbeaten 106, including a six and 13 fours, to steer his side to a four-wicket win.
