PREMIER 2: PAULTONS BID TO CLAW BACK 13-POINT DEFICIT

5/6/2015

Paultons chase a fifth straight win at Sparsholt as they bid to keep pace with unbeaten Southern Electric Premier Division leaders Portsmouth.
They trail the Southsea seafronters by 13 points – a situation that is unlikely to change tomorrow as the lead pair should both win.
Portsmouth face Hursley Park in free-fall – Matt Mettam’s team have lost their last four games – while Paultons will be confident after a recent fine run.  Andy Worth has an injured quad and may have to hand over the captain’s armband.  But hard hitting Stuart Tognarelli returns.
Sparsholt: from Worth, Ruffell, Gough, Foster,Jenner Tognarelli,Dunford, Vokes, Doubell , Doubell, DIlley, Ballands
Paultons: Richman, Wateridge, Robinson, Hall, Linge, Collins, Feltham, O'Brien, Lamb, Pike, Denney.
Hard hitting left-hand opener Dave Streather makes his first appearance of the season as Fawley look to heighten winless Bashley (Rydal) II's plight at the bottom.
Paul Marks makes way against a Bashley side that has lost all five matches so far.
Fawley: Gates, K Earl, Streather, Parratt, Royan, Leach, C Earl, Woolgar, Smith, Godden, Freeman.
OTs & Romsey are unlikely to have Hampshire's Chris Wood on duty against Tichborne Park, but Langley Manor will be hoping the confidence they gained from running Portsmouth close last week will rub off when Hambledon visit Knellers Lane.
Hambledon skipper Rob Atkins is in fine form – his 220 runs putting the former Andover left-hander in line for the monthly Southern Electric award.
