PREMIER 3: GOSPORT BOROUGH - TO THE MANOR BORN ...

24/6/2016

Langley Manor’s unbeaten five-match start as Southern Premier League Division 3 leaders faces arguably its toughest test when in-form Gosport Borough visit Knellers Lane.
Eager to bounce back after last season’s relegation disappointments, the Manor have been in particularly good batting form posting hefty totals of 315-7 (Fair Oak) and 252 (Havant) in their last two games.
But Gosport, who replace Alex Styles with the returning Lee Harrop, derailed overnight leaders Basingstoke & North Hants II last weekend and are full of confidence.  The Manor looks lush and immaculate.
Langley Manor: Renders, Browne, Castle, Budd, G Noble, Jenkin, Hamid, Mooney, Brown, Harris, Spencer.
Gosport Borough: Larner, L Harrop, Pennicott, Ruffell, R Harrop, Stares, Selway, Prathapasinghe, Kitchin, Patternole.
Basingstoke will expect to bounce back when they host Hursley Park, whose only win so far came against Lymington II last week.
Fletcha Middleton, 14 year old son of former Hampshire opening batsman Tony Middleton, makes his senior bow for Fair Oak against St Cross Symondians II, whose leading run maker Paul Hawkins has been promoted to the Winchester club’s first team. Influential all-rounder Rhys Oxley is on holiday, leaving Oaks short on spin option at the Green Jackets Ground.
Fair Oak: Hockenhull, C Kemp, E Kemp, Middleton, Bullough, Abbas, R Featherstone, R Stewart, Chessell, J Featherstone, Mash.
Waterlooville visit Ryde, whose only tangible reward so far has been a tie with Havant, whose visit to Lymington II is significant in the bottom places.
Lymington II: Kelly, Robinson, Grierson, Sutherland, Moors C, Willoughby, Robertson, Layman, Peruzi, Hunt, Chandler.
