One-time Hampshire all-rounder Lee Savident played a key role as Burridge hoisted themselves off the foot of the Southern Electric Premier League with a 97-run win over Ventnor, who replace them at the bottom.
The Channel Islander got an important 40 with the bat – Burridge were 7-2 when he arrived at the crease – and later led with the ball, taking 4-29 as Ventnor lost their last five wickets for 15 runs.
Ventnor struck two early blows with the new ball, with teenager slip fielder Ben Herridge snapping up Hampshire’s Joe Gatting (1) and Joe Collings-Wells (5).
But Jamie Richards (37) and Savident (40) guided Burridge to 91 without further mishap.
But after the left-handed Richards had fallen to the occasional seam of young George Willis, Burridge promptly lost three quick wickets – two to the deserving right-arm of Mark Holmes (4-39) – and had to rebuild from 102-5.
That task fell to sixth-wicket pair South African all-rounder Geoff Dods (62) and Rick Ankers (26), who added 67 before the tail fell away and Burridge declared 201-9 off 62 overs.
Ventnor plunged head-first into trouble, with former Hambledon skipper Dan Hewitt (3-18) ripping out the islanders’ top three, including the prolific Tasmanian Sean Willis.
James Cheek (38) and Neil Westhorpe (16) added fifty, but Ventnor’s remaining batting ebbed away against the spin of Savident (4-29) and Dods (2-15). They were all out for 104 and lost by 97 runs.
