A 125-run opening partnership between Scott Myers (67) and Australian Dan Hutton (63) paved the way to a comfortable five-wicket win for Alton over visiting Bashley (Rydal).
The pair chiselled off half of Bashley’s 245-8 before Abeed Janmohamed (37) and Michael Heffernan (33) eased Alton to the brink of a first win with 16 balls to spare.
Unsettled by two early Alex Hughes (3-46) blows which left the visitors 3-2, Bashley progressed to 61-4 (Tom Jacques 29) before the innings took any shape.
Gavin Bailiff, with three sixes and nine fours in his 93, and Chris Ridley (50), who made a more sedate contribution, shared a 113-run fifth-wicket stand.
But once Myers and Hutton established themselves, there was no way back for Bashley, who suffered a second consecutive defeat.
