Sparsholt

It's a crunch weekend for Sparsholt as they bid to celebrate the third year of their sponsorship with CALA Homes with success in the Southern Premier League and National Village Cup.
CALA Homes are the 'prime contractor' of the Barton Farm development on the northern outskirts of Winchester and their generous backing of Sparsholt cricket includes having the company name on the club's playing shirts.
Standing in Sparsholt's way of immediate progress are historic Hambledon, unbeaten in Premier Division 2, who visit the Norman Edwards Ground tomorrow [Saturday], but then host Andy Worth's side in the Village Cup county semi-finals at Ridge Meadow on Sunday.
Sparsholt were beaten in their opening high scoring league match by Tichborne Park, but bounced back to crush South Wilts II.
Hambledon have won both their opening games against Bashley (Rydal) II and Fawley.
Both clubs were hit by last weekend's wet weather - Sparsholt without a ball being bowled at Calmore Sports, while Hambledon at least managed to get 19 overs of bowling in before rain washed out their home game with Hartley Wintney.
