TROJAN TASK FOR HAMBLEDON ON EVE OF VILLAGE CUP TIE

24/6/2016

Table topping Trojans are without influential all-rounder Jamie Donaldson for what could prove a tricky Southern Premier League Division 1 visit to Village Cup hopefuls Hambledon.
The tall medium-pace bowler took five Calmore wickets as Trojans romped to a six straight win last week.
Hambledon, boosted by the return of one-time Hampshire left-arm slow bowler Ian Turner, face a season-defining weekend.
They are the sole local standard bearers in the Davidstow Village Cup – Parley and Rowledge having fallen at the county final stage – and entertain twice Lord’s winners Shipton-Under-Wychwood, from Oxfordshire, in the opening national round at Ridge Meadow on Sunday, 1pm.
Hambledon: Bond, G Marshall, Nkomo, J Marshall, S Le-Clercq, Chakrabarti, Bains,  Harding, Tuner, Chapman, Hetherington.  Trojans: Williams, Boyd, Pope, Mahmood, Babidge, Le Bas, Truscott, Wright, Abdul Manmoor, Mohammed, Wazir
The hamstring injury Richard Kenway suffered at Bashley (Rydal) last week means second placed Sparsholt having to make a top order switch for Fawley’s visit to the Norman Edwards Ground.
Northerner Jamie Skeoch, who played a few games for Basingstoke & North Hants last season, is his replacement.   Opening bowler Adam Freeman is absent for Fawley, but teenage pace prospect Ali Bryers has recovered from injury.
Sparsholt: Worth, Tognarelli, Banks, D Gough, Skeoch, Ruffell, Doubell, Foster, Vokes, Sankey , A Gough.
Fawley: Marks, A Parratt, K Earl, Rice, Leach, C Earl, Rhode, Bolton, B Parratt, Bryers.
Tichborne Park still bear the scars of their run mauling by Hambledon in both the SPL and Village Cup.
Skipper Will Allam looks to get the Alresford club’s promotion push back on the road and has leg spinner Ed Berry back for the visit to improving Hartley Wintney, who have won their last two games after a poor start.
Tichborne Park: W Allam, T Allam, Cheyney, Berry, Long, Ayling, Pond, Reid, Bristow, Skinner, Allen.
Crucial points are at stake at Loperwood Park, where Calmore Sports and Paultons chase a victory for entire different reasons.
Promotion hopefuls Calmore are stuttering after a bright start and have lost two of their last three games, while Paultons lie second from bottom.
Calmore Sports: Lavelle, Hardy, Goodrich, Johns, Moss, Perry, Rose, Cook, West, Proudley, Wright.
Winless Bashley (Rydal) II, who lie bottom, go to South Wilts II.
