Sarisbury Athletic and South Wilts are through to their respective regional finals of the ECB indoor six-a-side club cricket championships.
A comfortable 38-run win over Guildford City Youth Project has put Sarisbury into the south play-offs at Canterbury, while South Wilts beat the Somerset champions Wellington by 12 runs and will return to Taunton for the west region finals on March 1.
Openers Matt Journeaux (39) and Ricky Rawlins (32), aided by a breezy 20 from Joe Lovett, guided Sarisbury to handy 114. Guildford were on the back foot directly Dave Banks took a wicket with a superb swinging first ball and never threatened the Sarisbury total, finishing with 76-5, Lovett taking 2-14.
Sarisbury Athletic will face Essex Premier League club South Woodford in the South semi-final and, if successful, will play either Sandwich Town (Kent) or Theale & Tilehurst for a place at Lord’s.
Rob Pittman (29), Joe Cranch (25) and Christian Pain (24) eased South Wilts to 115-3 against Wellington, who were dismissed for 102 (Adam Sparks 44). South Wilts face Cornish champions St Austell in the West semi-final and will play either Welshmen Neyland or Stalbridge if they win.
Dorset winners Stalbridge trimmed Hampshire League side Ryde (80-5) by thee wickets at Hurn.
