Ville have claimed three straight wins, including last week’s 98-run crushing of Lymington II and share the lead with Trojans, who take a full strength and unchanged side to St Cross Symondians II.

The Waterlooville skipper said: ‘Everyone can bat and everyone can bowl on our team. We bat all the way down and we have a few different bowling options. It means I can pick and choose, depending on the game situation.
‘We’ve got lots of flexibility in the batting line-up, which means I can send someone in who is a bit more defensive or someone to go in and whack it. It is so handy to be able to do that. We are three out of three so far and we are doing alright.
We’ve had a good start but we are not going to get ahead of ourselves. Gosport are strong at home, they are a decent side with a lot of good players but so are we so it should be a good game. It’s a real test for us and it would be a statement if we can go and win there.’
James Scutt returns for Waterlooville but Gosport are boasting an in-form batsman with Australian Blake Maher, from Queensland, fresh from last week’s unbeaten century in the win over South Wilts II, whose now controversial ‘handled the ball off a no-ball’ incident against Lymington II a fortnight ago has become a hot topic of conversation around the cricketing world.
Lymington give a debut to 15-year old Canford School prospect Finn Ambrose against Totton & Eling II at the Sports Ground. Winless Basingstoke host Alton, with South Wilts going to Havant. Max Goddard believes flexibility is the key to his Waterlooville side’s perfect start to the Southern Electric Premier Division 3 campaign, writes Steve Wilson of the Portsmouth News.
