NEW MILTON thrashed Old Tauntonians by seven wickets to win the 1983 Southern League 'Echo Trophy' at Northlands Road, having restricted the Southampton club to 91-6 (23 overs), with a miserly 1-8 teenage Neil Taylor spell. Pete Wakefield (30), Simon Massey (23*) and Iain Britton (21) knocked off the runs with 23 balls to spare.
