1986 was a year of consolidation for HAMBLEDON, who had celebrated promotion as County Division 2 runners-up two seasons before.
They finished a modest 12th in the log, with current chairman Mark le Clerq top scoring with 468 runs and 'Topsy' Turner capturing 44 wickets to finish joint second in the bowling charts alongside Alan Boniface (Portsmouth Civil Service), two behind Bashley (Rydal) Australian all-rounder Jamie Snadden, whose 475 runs and 46 wickets helped the New Forest club take the title.
