
Queenslander Lachlan Jess inspired Tichborne Park to a 100-run win over early season pacemakers Hambledon – and to second place in Southern Premier League Division 3.
The Cairns all-rounder hit 52 and took 4-17 as Tichborne successfully defended 217-9, having been given a sound start by Ed Primmer (41).
Tichborne slipped to 139-6 but regained the initiative through Martin Cheyney (44), Will Allam (20) and Jack Skinner (17).
Hambledon, whose summer is mirroring last season, lost two wickets for ten runs and struggled to 117 all out, Lewis le Clerq (40) top scoring.
