Josh Wilkins struck an astonishing 136 not out off 72 balls as Old Netley & Highfield chased down Havant’s 178-2 to celebrate a nine-wicket Hampshire CB Kerry Cup victory at the VT Sports Ground.
Wilkins, pictured, cracked 13 sixes and nine fours in a superb display of hitting as Old Netley raced to victory with three balls to spare.
Earlier, Freddie Gadd (64) and Archie Pullen (59) shared a century stand as Havant built a seemingly unassailable total, but Peter Symondians College student Wilkins, who started at Old Netley as a seven year old and now plays in the club’s first team, shattered their dreams with his amazing boundary onslaught.
Hambledon, Havant, and Old Netley & Highfield all won one game in the three-club group.
