Academy pair Tom Alsop and Joe Weatherley shared a massive 297-run opening partnership in Hampshire's Second XI Championship match with Sussex on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground today.
Alsop, in superb form recently, scored 195, including a six and 25 fours, while Weatherley, last winter's England Under-19 captain in Australia, pierced the boundary 16 times on his way to a maiden 118. Hampshire II finished day two 442-4, Sussex having been dismissed for 367.
