Ali Cheyne’s return after a three-year spell playing Surrey Championship cricket with Camberley is one part of a triple pre-season boost for Langley Manor, who are aiming to bounce back after last season’s relegation from Southern Premier Division Two.
Cheyne was a prolific run scorer for the Manor prior to his move to Surrey, but his move back to Langley has coincided with Camberley’s relegation to Surrey Championship 2, alongside neighbours Farnham.
The rugby playing former KES student scored almost 900 Surrey Championship runs during his spell with Camberley.
Langley Manor, who finished bottom of SPL2 last season having finished third in 2013, have also sharpened their attack by signing Luke Mooney from near neighbours Totton & Eling.
They have also lined up New Zealander Dave Castle, an opening batsman and off-spinner, as their overseas player for the season, which begins against Hursley Park at Knellers Lane on May 6.
