ALL ROADS LEAD SOUTH FOR TOM'S INDOOR RUNS

Promising Old Netley & Highfield all-rounder Tom South remained undefeated at the crease as the county Development team recorded a NatWest Under-16 Indoor League double at the Ageas Bowl.
The left-hander, who made several appearances in the Hampshire Academy side last summer, hit an unbeaten 35 in the 28-run win over South Wilts and 26 not out in the five-wicket victory over Totton & Eling Tigers.
Totton lost both matches, but had the two top scorers of the session, with Ethan Taylor hitting a valiant 55 against South Wilts and Chris Simpkin 42 not out against the Development team
Results -
South Wilts 116-5 (J Wade 35, E Wade 17, Smith 16, Mansbridge 2-25)
Totton & Eling Tigers 99 (Taylor 55, Huntley 2-21, E Wade 2-22)
South Wilts won by 17 runs.
Development 140-3 (South 35*, Sebborn 28*, Balcombe 20, Watson 16)
South Wilts 112-2 (J Wade 27*, E Wade 26*, Smith 24, Huntley 15)
Development won by 28 runs.
Totton & Eling Tigers 114-4 (Simpkin 42*, Carty 26*, Bose 2-17)
Development 117-1 (South 26*, Watson 25*, Sebborn 20*, Bose 20*)
Development won by five wickets.
Sunday’s fixtures: 6 Basingstoke & North Hants v New Forest, 7 Basingstoke & North Hants v Compton & Chandler’s Ford, 8 New Forest v Compton & Chandler’s Ford.
