Alton have been 'bowled out' of the ECB Vitality T20 knockout - their twice postponed Regional Final against Tunbridge Wells having to be decided by sets of players bowling at an unguarded set of stumps after the Jubilee Ground ground had been declared unfit after being hit by more heavy rain.
The Brewers reached the national last 16 after beating Eastbourne by losing fewer wickets in a tied south-east semi-final last Sunday, but a torrential storm dashed any prospects of them playing the Kent Premier League winners in the Regional Final.
Tunbridge Wells, who comfortably beat Reigate Priory, made the long cross-country trip to Alton again today and won the 'bowl out' 3-1.
They will return to Hampshire again next Sunday as the ECB South Finals are being hosted by Basingstoke & North Hants at May's Bounty.
