Alton have signed 26-year old Victorian Premier League opening batsman Daniel Hutton as their overseas player for the 2016 ECB Southern Premier League season.
He replaces New Zealander left-arm seam all-rounder Dewayne Bowden, who missed all of the past season with a torn Achilles tendon.
Hutton is an established first grade all-rounder playing for Melbourne University in the powerful Victoria sub-district competition, having scored over 2,000 runs and taken some 80 wickets bowling off-spin.
It will be Hutton’s second visit to the UK, having played in Yorkshire for Wetherby League club Scarcroft in 2011.
Scott Myers will continue to skipper Alton next season, with younger leg-spinning brother Jack as vice-captain.
