The Amis brothers, Oscar (bowling left) and Henry (above) produced inspired performances as Liphook & Ripsley nailed Voneus Village Cup finalists Calmore Sports by six wickets at Ripsley Park. Bowling left-arm spin, Oscar took 2-18 off a miserly ten-over spell before scoring some important runs. Younger brother Henry, who is enjoying a fine season with Hampshire Under-15s, top scored with 45. Photos Martin Fisher. |
Liphook & Ripsley produced arguably their best performance of the season to beat Calmore Sports by six wickets, a win that keeps them in with a mathematical chance of avoiding the drop from Division 1.
But they'll have to win two of their remaining matches - home to Basingstoke & North Hants and champions designate Sarisbury Athletic either side of a visit to Alton - if they are to bridge the 32 points gap between themselves and New Milton.
Ben Johns (40), James Manning (36) and Steve Wright (34*) top scored in Calmore's 174, a target Liphook chased down with Henry Amis (45), brother Oscar (35), Henry Munt (28) and Rob Nicklin (26) to the fore.
