Andover have unveiled a new electronic scoreboard at London Road in memory of its late President Lesley Morgan, who died in August 2019, aged 74 years.
She was involved with the club for over 40 years, having spent “hundreds of thousands of hours scoring” for the first team, and subsequently became the club’s secretary and president, where she “touched the lives of many in the cricketing community.”
Ali Hooper, the club’s Vice Chairman, said: “Since Lesley passed, we have been looking for a fitting way to remember her. She had a deep affiliation with the cricket club; scoring for over 40 years, and filling almost every position on the committee at one time or another, giving people in the local community the opportunity to play cricket, so we thought this would be a great way to commemorate her life and give the club a much-needed new scoreboard.
Lesley was massively involved with scorer coaching/development and was a past chairman of the Wiltshire CAO. A keen theatre enthusiast, she also scored for the Minor Counties team.
