Waterlooville have received a donation of £1,000 from the ASDA Foundation towards kitting out three of their junior sides in coloured playing kit for the upcoming season.
Ville’s Director of Cricket Andy Reynolds, pictured receiving a cheque, explained: “The ASDA Foundation gives independent grants and support locally relevant projects throughout the UK.
“As our local retailer and shop of choice when preparing our weekend cricket teas, ASDA were very keen to support a club activity that provided an opportunity for young boys and girls to learn and participate in this great sport, whilst assisted and trained by qualified coaches and club members in a positive and safe environment.
“Waterlooville were delighted to receive the donation which, when added to some additional club funds, will enable us to provide all the under 9’s, 11’s & 13’s with coloured playing kit for the coming season and beyond.
“In the present day era of T20 cricket, white and pink balls, music, coloured kit and all the razzmatazz we see with the IPL & Big Bash on television, it’s a huge bonus to provide our
Juniors’ with such a tremendous gift.
“As we are all too aware cricket must continue to move forward in the competition of attracting juniors and this is another terrific way for us to continue that theme.”
