Paultons lost their Premier Division 2 opener to St Cross Symondians II by nine runs – but made no mistake in heir second appearance, thumping a weakened South Wilts II by 139 runs at Whitemoor Lane.
Their match winner was Australian all-rounder James Bills, who smacked 122 off 87 balls.
Paultons were already well placed at 115-3 (Cameron Grierson 38) when he arrived at the crease with Scott Hills going well.
Bills, who hails from the Sydney Grade club Sutherland, crashed five sixes and nine fours, sharing a useful stand with Hills, who made a more sedate 62 as Paultons reached 298 all out.
Skipper Robert Pittman took 4-47 for South Wilts, who lost wickets every ten runs or so when they replied.
Bills (2-28) nipped out the first two, while Rob Pike finished with 3-39.
Teenage opener Henry Smith (43) almost carried his bat throughout South Wilts’ innings and was eventually ninth out before the innings closed at 159.
