Leg-spin all-rounder Ethan Baker hit a boundary off the last ball of the match to secure a thrilling five-wicket win for Winchester College over Merchant Taylor's in the Public Schools Under-17 Cup quarter-finals.
The Middlesex school made an imposing 249-9 in 35 overs, Aaryan Savant scoring 100 and Aaron Hockey taking 4-34.
When Seb Morgan (90) and Henry Nicholls (61) powered Winchester's response to 153-1 in the 21st over, it looked as though Winchester might enjoy a comfortable win. Not so. They still needed ten runs off the last over, but Baker (46*) thrived in the tension and struck a last ball four to win the match.
