There’s still two points in it between Bashley (Rydal) and Fair Oak at the top of the Southern Premier League Cup East 2/3 after last weekend’s rain washed out the summit showdown.
The lead pair will be back in action in round six, with Bashley hosting Fawley and Fair Oak hanging out the Lapstone Park bunting for Trojans’ arrival.
Bashley are boosted by the return of James Turner at the top of the order.
Fawley did at least get some 199-run batting practice in before the rains came with the in-form Kieron Earl making a second consecutive half-century against Hythe & Dibden at Jones Lane.
Bashley (Rydal) II: Patrick Lewis, James Turner, Will Tripcony, Jacob Gordon, Simon Watkins, George Wilson, Saif Achakzai, Simon Ridley, Neil Taylor, Tom Harris, Ethan Baker.
Fair Oak are virtually at full strength for the visit of Trojans who can expect a three-pronged spin attack coming in their direction.
Fair Oak: C Gwynn, G McKenzie, M McKenzie, E Kemp, R Oxley, Watson, Hawkings, Bullough, R Featherstone, B Smith, R Stewart.
Hythe & Dibden’s batsmen will be watchful when facing the wicket taking menace of Tim Partridge at Bemerton, while South Wilts are wary of the Tom Gates potential – the Waterside all-rounder having scored a recent century and taken five wickets.
Joe Cranch is back for South Wilts, while Matt Young (pictured below) is threatening a big score for Hythe, who give 13-year old Ben Holbrook an opportunity with the ball.
South Wilts II: E Wade, Cranch, Edwards, R Pittman, Pearce, Harries, S Pittman, Partridge, Bolam, Lewis, Richards.
Hythe & Dibden: T Richards, T Gates, M Young, Z Millar, S Redford, A Nicholas, F Roberts, D Taylor, J K Owen, B Holbrook.
In the other West 2/3 match, OTs & Romsey host Langley Manor - a fitting occasion for groundsman Ian Jerram to celebrate his 40th birthday.
