A 144-run second wicket stand between Tom Gates and Tom O’Sullivan pointed Bashley (Rydal) II to an impressive 269-9 and a thumping 110-run win over promoted Purbrook.

A three-wicket new-ball spell by Kevin Nash (3-21) dropped Purbrook to 56-6 before Clark Harding (57 not out) and Burger Nel (48) gave their reply some credibility. Pierre van Wyk took 4-45 as Purbrook reached 159 all out.
Threatened Fawley gave their survival prospects a boost with a fine one-wicket win at Gosport Borough, where 19 wickets fell for 162 runs. Adam Freeman’s 5-18 sent Borough to 87-8 – number nine Greg Kitchen (29 helping them make 130 all out – a total Fawley just about reached. Fawley sagged to 66-5, recovered through Kieron Earl (25) and Rob Leach (23), and got across the line with Freeman making a priceless 10 not out at the end.
Fair Oak are sliding into troubled waters after a 44-run defeat by fellow strugglers Alton at Lapstone Park.
Alton dropped from 79-2 (Hugo Hammond 35) to 128 all out against Joe Salmon (4-24) and Rhys Oxley (3-32). Oaks lurched to 49-6 against Lee Partner (4-8) and Toby Salmon (4-36) and were reliant on KES youngster Max Watson (25) for their 84.
Hursley Park are back on the bottom after Havant II thrashed them by eight wickets.
Tom Flynn’s late 66 not out, preceded by Lee Wateridge (59), took HP to 193-5, but Havant chalked off the runs with some comfort, Peter Hopson making 66 and Harry Gadd 55. Recently released from his Hampshire scholarship contract, Josh McCoy hit 47 having earlier taken two Hursley Park wickets.
