Alton’s Abhay Gonella (65), Mo Abbas (26) and Ollie Southon, with a quick fire 33 not out, kept the pot boiling as Hampshire posted a competitive 287-7 off 50 overs.
Somerset, who had won al three of their lead up games, were back in the game after Lewis Goldsworthy (60) and Chris Reed (51) took their reply to 95-2.
