A Southern League best 89 not out by Chris Blake [left] swept Burridge to a six-wicket Premier League Cup win over Sparsholt for whom Lewis Mitchard and Stuart Taylor had earlier hit half-centuries.
The former Trojans and Lymington player struck two sixes and ten fours in his knock which carried past Sparsholt’s 202-4 with four overs to spare.
Joe Collings-Wells fell cheaply – the first of two victims for Michael Haworth (2-22) – but Burridge were soon on course once Jack Paskins (35) and Blake launched the first of three fifth-plus partnerships.
Blake then went on to add 67 with skipper Hilio De Abreu (34) and later James Hughes, who made 21 not out.
Earlier, Lewis Mitchard (53) and Stuart Taylor (50) had been the mainstays for Sparsholt, whose next match against the Hampshire Academy on Saturday (12.30) will be played on neutral soil at May’s Bounty, home of Basingstoke & North Hants.
The scheduled East zone matches between Portsmouth and Havant, and table topping St Cross Symondians II and Hampshire Academy were cancelled due to wet weather.
