Bournemouth University students will probably have to end three unbeaten opposition records if they are to reach the BUCS indoor sixes cricket finals.
They carried all before them, winning all seven games in last month’s south-east qualifiers at Eastleigh’s Fleming Park.
But East London, Exeter and Kent, whom they will face in the South regional finals in Canterbury on February 1, also emerged with 100 per cent records from their domestic tournaments, leaving Bradley Currie’s with a stiff task in Canterbury’s Christ Church University sports complex.
Currie is joined in the Bournemouth side by Dan Goodey and Basingstoke & North Hants spin all-rounder Ash Neal, who scored close on 200 runs in the Eastleigh.
Lymington’s Harry Fisher will line up for Exeter alongside former Hampshire Academy pace bowler Rory Hipwell, while Bashley (Rydal) all-rounder George Wilson plays for Oxford Brookes, who are paired against Canterbury, Cardiff & Met and Westminster in the other half of the draw.
The top two teams in each group will progress to the National BUCS finals.
Hartley Wintney batsman/wicketkeeper Will Kerr leads Birmingham University in the northern regional finals.
