Bashley (Rydal) left-arm quick Brad Currie faces a desert dash if he’s to make the Dorset team for Sunday’s National Counties T20 Cup double header against Wiltshire at the BCG, 11am.
Currie is currently in the UAE with Scotland against Oman and Papa New Guinea, but he’s not played in any of the three ICC Cricket World Cup Division 2 victories, which have put the Scots second in the overall points table.
It’s unlikely he’ll play against Oman on Good Friday after which he’ll be packing his bags for the flight home – and some long overdue game time.
“All being well I’ll be on deck at Bashley, all be it a tad jet lagged,” he said.
Eight Southern Premier League cricketers are in the Dorset 12-man squad, including exciting Hampshire prospect Tom Prest.
Dorset: Luke Webb (captain), Harry Broderick, Brad Currie, Alex Eckland, Ed Ellis, Ben Ladd Gibbon, Jacob Gordon, Rob Pack, Tom Prest, Oli Soames, Simon Woodruff, Sam Young.
