New Zealand T20 international Tom Bruce put Havant’s to the sword and ended the local Southern Premier League club’s hopes of playing in a Lord’s ECB Royal London national club championship final.
Playing for Weybridge, Bruce hit three sixes and eight fours in an unbeaten 87 which swept the Surrey Championship side past Havant’s 173-7 and to a seven-wicket win with seven overs to spare.
Bruce, who has made 14 T20 International appearance for the Black Caps, shared a big stand with former Winchester College all-rounder/captain Ollie Mills, who made 59.
Chris Stone top scored with 73 for Havant, alongside Chris Morgan (31) and Richard Hindley (25).
