Hampshire’s Jimmy Adams christened his St Cross Symondians return with an unbeaten century which put a serious dent in Burridge’s chances of becoming ECB Southern Premier League champions.
He hit 121 not out and shared an unbroken partnership with Matt Stokes (78) as St Cross overhauled a Burridge total of 228 to win by seven wickets.
The result took St Cross into second place in the log behind South Wilts – and top of the Time pennant table.
If they beat Bashley (Rydal) at the Green Jackets next Saturday, they will take the all-day flag for the first time.

The former Hampshire skipper really had to come to the party when his county team-mate Ian Holland was trapped leg before to leave St Cross 61-3.
But, with 20 boundaries under his belt, he marched on to an unbeaten 121, an innings which proved a match winner.
Southampton Solent University skipper Matt Stokes proved an ideal partner for Adams, hitting a classy 78 as the visitors got on top and eventually chased down the target
The Burridge score was almost entirely due to Stokes’s Solent uni team-mate Richard Lock, whose own hundred rescued the hosts.
Burridge lurched to 70-5 before the Zimbabwe-raised left-hander compiled an equally fine 118 (18 fours), doubling the total in a post-lunch rally with Dan Stancliffe (25).
Lock eventually perished at 203-7, leaving Rick Ankers (20) to push the final score to 228.
Jimmy Adams was always going to play the key role after that and so it proved …
