Time cricket is not going well for Burridge …
Having topped the embryo Premier Division table after three straight ‘white ball’ 50-overs wins, they’ve lost all bar one of their subsequent four Time pennant games.
The latest came after their bowlers had endured a 312-run pasting from title holders Havant, who are pressing leaders South Wilts at the top.
Havant ran up 312-5 before bowling Burridge out for 190 to claim a 122-run victory.
Stuart Ransley’s patient 92, which contained ten boundaries, underpinned Havant’s formidable total, eventually being fifth out at 260-5.
He shared a useful partnership with Chris Stone (38) before adding 126 with teenager Harry Gadd (left), whose 71 was his best yet in the Premier.
Richard Hindley (33) and Chris Morgan (23) took Havant’s total on to 312-5 – and out of sight.
Richard Lock (3-80) toiled away for Burridge, who progressed to 108-1 on the back of Joe Collings-Wells (71) before Morgan’s left-arm spin triggered a top order collapse.
Four wickets – three of them to Morgan (3-34) - fell on 108, after which only Dan Stancliffe (40) made a worthwhile contribution.
Graham Burns, another left-arm spinner, cleaned up with 4-24 as Burridge slipped to 190 all out.
