Burridge fell at the last hurdle in their bid to reach the ECB indoor sixes cricket championship finals at Lord’s.
They comfortably brushed aside Berkshire champions Purely-on-Thames in the south-east region semi-finals, but found Broadstairs too hot to handle in their own familiar Ramsgate sports hall and were beaten by 66 runs in the final.
They bowled Purely out for 63 in the semi’s – seasoned indoor star Richard Kenway (23) and Sully White (20) completing the formalities of a four-wicket win.
But, having conceded 34 in extras, Burridge gave themselves far too much to do against Broadstairs, who piled up 115-4 before dismissing the Hampshire champions for 59 (White 18).
Joining Broadstairs in the Lord’s final on March 29 are Swindon, who ran up 139-4 against Ryde, who lost two wickets without a single run on the board and were bowled out for 76, with Ash Goldsmith (27) and Matt Oatley (24) top scoring.
